The Extron FOX I/O 88 HD-SDI board is available
as an option for the FOX Matrix 3200 and FOX Matrix 7200 Modular Fiber Optic
Matrix Switchers, and enables connection to local 3G-SDI-equipped devices. This
board offers an 8x8 configuration for switching and distribution of signals up
to 2.97 Gbps, including 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, and SDI. With this board, the FOX Matrix
3200 and FOX Matrix 7200 can be configured as dedicated 3G-SDI matrix switchers,
or with a combination of 3G-SDI and fiber optic matrix switching. The FOX I/O 88
HD-SDI board is compliant with SMPTE 259M, 292M, 424M, and ITU digital video
standards.
The FOX I/O 88 HD-SDI board is hot-swappable, and each input and output is
individually buffered to maximize performance with virtually no crosstalk. To
optimize SDI signal transmission to and from the board, input signals are
automatically equalized, and output signals are reclocked. The FOX Matrix 3200
and FOX Matrix 7200 provide separate bi-level and tri-level references for
correct vertical interval switch timing.
The FOX I/O 88 HD-SDI board enables a local BNC connection to the FOX 3G HD-SDI
fiber optic extender for 3G-SDI. Incoming signals from the FOX 3G HD-SDI can
then be routed to the board's BNC outputs, or through the fiber optic outputs to
remote FOX 3G HD-SDI units. Similarly, local BNC inputs can be output on fiber
or BNC. In broadcast and production applications, a 3G-SDI-equipped FOX Matrix
3200 or FOX Matrix 7200, together with several FOX 3G HD-SDI units, offers
expanded opportunities for system integration. For example, they can be used to
route signals to and from local editing equipment, while also providing the
capability to receive or transmit 3G-SDI signals very long distances to devices
in remote locations, such as cameras and production monitors. |
•
Automatically adapts to SMPTE and ITU digital video
standards for 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, and SDI — Complies with SMPTE 259M, 292M, 424M,
and ITU digital video standards.
• Supports data rates from 270 Mbps to 2.97 Gbps
• Integrates easily into a wide range of 4K and UHD environments — FOX Series
matrix switchers and extenders can be configured for use with 4K sources and
displays with resolutions up to 4096x2160.
• 3G-SDI I/O board for the FOX Matrix 3200 and FOX Matrix 7200
• Passes embedded audio, ancillary ID and metadata information, and SD/HD-SDTI
digital video signals — Passes all data allowed within published SMPTE and ITU
digital video standards, including embedded audio, ancillary ID and metadata
information, and SDTI (SMPTE 305M) and HD-SDTI (SMPTE 348M) digital video
signals.
• Input equalization and reclocking on buffered outputs — Automatically
equalizes incoming signals, and reshapes and restores signals on the buffered
outputs.
• Hot-swappable — Boards can be added or removed at any time, without the need
to power down the matrix switcher.
• Immunity to pathological signal patterns
• Individually buffered inputs and outputs
Note: The FOX I/O 88 HD-SDI board is not compatible with the FOX Matrix 14400 or
the FOX Matrix 320x.
