Extron XTP R HWP 201 XTP Receiver with 90° HDMI
Connector for Wall-Mounted Displays |
Product
Code:XTPCRHWP201
|
The Extron XTP R HWP 201 is a
Decora®-style wallplate receiver for XTP Systems® that
include wall-mounted displays. The HDMI output connector is
oriented upward at a 90° angle, which minimizes stress on the
cable and allows for a low-profile flat panel display installation.
The receiver accepts XTP® signals from up to 330 feet (100
meters) away over a shielded CATx cable and outputs video, audio,
bidirectional RS-232 and IR, and Ethernet to the display. It also
provides HDMI audio de-embedding with analog stereo audio output
and volume control. For simplified integration, the wallplate
receiver can be remotely powered by the XTP CrossPoint® matrix
switcher or via optional power injector. The XTP R HWP 201 is
designed for use in XTP Systems to support long-distance signal
transmission in wall-mount environments.
The XTP R HWP 201 is ideal for applications that require an AV and
control connection point for a wall-mounted display that is
reliable, discreet, and easy to integrate. A convenient cable
tie-down point ensures a secure and reliable HDMI connection. The
wallplate receiver supports 1080p/60 Deep Color and 1920x1200
signals. It enables the reliable, long distance distribution of
HDMI signals, supporting Deep Color up to 12-bit, embedded HD
lossless audio formats, and CEC pass-through. In addition, DDC
channels are actively buffered, allowing EDID and HDCP
communication to be maintained between a source and display.
Continuous communication ensures device compatibility and optimal
signal transmission between devices.
The receiver includes Extron technologies to enhance and simplify
integration with HDMI-equipped devices. For HDMI signals with
protected content, Key Minder® authenticates and maintains
HDCP encryption to provide quick and reliable transmission across
the cable infrastructure. If HDCP-encrypted content is sent to a
non-compliant display, a full-screen green signal is sent,
providing immediate visual notification that protected content
cannot be viewed on the display. Another included technology is
EDID Minder®, which ensures continuous EDID communication
between devices.
In addition to high performance video, the XTP R HWP 201 accepts
audio signals over the same cable. It provides signal distribution
for HDMI embedded audio or audio de-embedding with two-channel
balanced/unbalanced analog stereo. To precisely control audio, the
XTP wallplate receiver includes analog audio volume adjustment and
muting.
The XTP R HWP 201 wallplate receiver's RS-232 and IR pass-through
port enables bidirectional RS-232 and IR signals to be sent to the
display without the need for additional cabling. This simplifies
integration with a control system for managing the display.
Additionally, centralized 10/100 Ethernet communication can be
implemented via an Ethernet extension port to reduce the number of
independent network drops required within a system.
To further simplify system design, the receiver can be powered by
the XTP CrossPoint® matrix switcher over the same cable that
transmits the AV and control signals. This capability speeds up
installation at remote endpoints by eliminating the need to provide
AC power to the device. The remote powering capabilities and unique
form factor of the XTP R HWP 201 allow for discreet placement
behind a flat panel display or in a floor box.
Extron recommends Extron-certified XTP DTP 24 shielded twisted pair
cable, shielded RJ-45 plugs, jacks, and couplers engineered for
optimum signal transmission with Extron XTP Systems. This cable is
certified to 475 MHz, and utilizes a SF/UTP design with four
unshielded 24 AWG twisted pair conductors inside an overall braid
and foil shield for superior performance and noise immunity.

• Receives
video with embedded audio, bidirectional RS-232 and IR, and
Ethernet up to 330 feet (100 m) over a shielded CATx cable —
The XTP R HWP 201 provides high reliability and maximum performance
on an economical and easily installed cable infrastructure.
• Unique low-profile wallplate design requires minimal space
behind a flat panel display — The HDMI port is oriented
upward at a 90-degree angle to solve the long-standing issue of
limited space behind a wall-mounted display. A convenient cable
tie-down point further ensures full stabilization of the
connection.
• Supports computer-video to 1920x1200, including HDTV
1080p/60 Deep Color and 2K — Supports digital signal
transmission up to 330 feet over a shielded twisted pair cable,
maintaining superior image quality at the highest resolutions.
• Compatible with CATx shielded twisted pair cable —
The XTP R HWP 201 fully supports a maximum transmission distance of
330 feet (100 meters) for all compatible resolutions when used with
CATx shielded twisted pair cable. Shielded twisted pair cabling
with solid center conductor sizes of 24 AWG or better is
recommended for optimal performance.
• Extron XTP DTP 24 shielded twisted pair cable is strongly
recommended for optimal performance
• Bidirectional RS-232 and IR insertion for AV device control
— Bidirectional RS-232 control and IR signals can be
transmitted alongside the video signal, allowing the remote display
to be controlled without the need for additional cabling.
• Supported HDMI specification features include data rates up
to 6.75 Gbps, Deep Color up to 12-bit, 3D, HD lossless audio
formats, and CEC pass-through
• HDCP compliant — Ensures display of content-protected
media and interoperability with other HDCP-compliant devices.
Requires an HDCP-compliant transmitter to pass HDCP content with
this receiver.
• EDID Minder® automatically manages EDID communication
between connected devices — EDID Minder ensures that all
sources power up properly and reliably output content for
display.
• Key Minder® continuously verifies HDCP compliance for
quick, reliable switching — Key Minder authenticates and
maintains continuous HDCP encryption between input and output
devices to ensure quick and reliable switching in professional AV
environments, while enabling simultaneous distribution of a single
source to multiple displays.
• Ethernet extension — Centralized 10/100 Ethernet
communication can be implemented via an Ethernet pass-through port
to reduce the amount of independent network drops required within a
system.
• HDMI audio de-embedding with analog stereo audio outputs
and volume control — Digital HDMI audio is made available as
a balanced or unbalanced analog stereo signal on captive screw
connectors.
• Remote power capability — To simplify integration,
XTP transmitters and receivers can be powered by the XTP CrossPoint
matrix switcher.
• Supports multiple embedded audio formats
• Supports EDID and HDCP transmission — DDC channels
are actively buffered, allowing continuous communication between
source and display.
