Spreader
The 547B has an innovative mid-level spreader which aids in tripod
leg angle setting. The spreader is adjustable in length to
accommodate a variety of leg angles, and equipped with a locking
collar. The built-in mid-level spreader adds anti-torsional
rigidity and stops the tripod legs from accidentally being knocked
wider apart. Compared to a ground-level spreader or dolly, the
mid-level spreader offers the advantage of staying well out of the
mud and dirt, and thus is more suitable for use on rough
terrain.
