• Ultra-compact spot or
hanging mic
• Precise and natural sound
• Huge dynamic range
• Low profile – wide pickup area
Ideal for unobtrusive spot miking, such as hanging use, the 4015E
is an ultra-compact wide cardioid microphone from the modular DPA
d:dicate Recording Microphones series.
With a length of only 3,5 cm, the low-key appearance of the 4015E
is followed by the SM4000-C suspension mount, which is included in
the package. This allows the 4015E to be hung from the ceiling and
create precise and repeatable positions and angles when spot miking
orchestra sections or ambience atmospheres.
The DPA 4015E wide cardioid differs in its polar pattern and is the
perfect fill-in between an omni and a more directional microphone.
Sometimes a conventional cardioid pattern just isn’t quite
open enough, such as when recording instruments with complex
radiation patterns or when less low frequency loss at distance is
important. In those instances, the generous directivity of our wide
cardioids allows you to pick up a broader sound field and more
accurately capture the full breadth of a stirring performance.
Limitless applications
Recording orchestras or other ensembles sometimes requires a
compromise between blending in the room reverberation and a more
precise localization. The wide cardioid design covers a greater
sound angle and is an excellent choice for grand piano, guitar,
marimba, and percussion, or as a spot mic for groups in a symphony
orchestra. Likewise, it is an excellent speech, dubbing, or vocal
mic as its enhanced richness on the bass end nicely compliments
many voices.
Completely linear, even off-axis
The off-axis characteristics of the 4015E are totally linear, a
unique quality when it comes to authentic sound reproduction. Any
leakage that occurs from off-axis sound sources is still a faithful
reproduction of these sounds, just softly attenuated.
At any time and with no tools necessary it is possible to transform
the basic 4015E microphone into a new configuration by combining it
with another DPA microphone capsule or preamp. |
