As date of Sept 1 2016, Canon has introduced new mono/stereo mic as bundling sales with new camera 5D IV. Our dealers in Japan have found SMX-30 is much superior than Canon ones. So Canon dealers in Japan sell also SMX-30 along with Canon new camera.

Azden SMX-30 Superior Points against all

1, Gain Adjutment SMX-30 have microphone gain selection +20dB,0dB and -10dB. The +20dB is really good feature to bypass camera preamp function. Camera preamp quality is not good. Increasing the audio level on camera increase the white noise. The boosted 20dB audio level from SMX-30 bypass the camera preamp. It provides clean and low noise sound.

2. Supported batteries AA battery is generally available and easy to buy.

3, Frequency Wider frequency leve from 20Hz to 20kHz allow you to record all kinds of sound.

4, Output impedance Ours is 50 ohm. This impedance is not limited audio input to camera but all any recording devices.

5, High S/N Signal/Noise ratio, higher value is better. Our value is best in this class of microphone.

6, Convenient feature such as Shotgun/Stereo (120 degree angle) switchable, Auto power etc

Indoor shooting, sound is bouncing inside of room. To catch the sound source clearly, shotgun mode is so useful. Meanwhile, outside, vivid natural sound is so valuable. To get such natural environment sound , stereo mode is so useful. On the spot, SMX-30 can change the mode. Auto power off mode is really useful feature. Camera shooter is so busy. Sometime may forget to switch off the microphone power. After passing a few days, badely the microphone power run out. But SMX-30 auto power mode, it switch off the mic power when camera switch off. It can avoid of microphone battery die. Newly developed shock-mount holder can bypass camera touch noise and motor oscilating sound etc. The shoe mount holder bottom adapt quoter inch screw hole to connect with microphone stand, boom pole etc.
