4K/UHD video signal over HDMI and more.
More Apple ProRes Support
In addition to Apple ProRes 422(HQ), Odyssey now supports Apple ProRes 422 and
Apple ProRes 422(LT) allowing you to select the best bitrate for your workflow
and deliverables.
4K/UHD/2K/1080/720 resolutions all supported 4K/UHD up to 30p; 2K/1080/720 up to
60p
4K/UHD Supersampling
High quality supersampling of 4K/UHD video signal over HDMI yields 2K/HD video
superior to that available directly from cameras like the GH4 and A7S.
Remote Trigger Support
The Convergent Design Odyssey Remote Trigger is a pushbutton active remote
start/stop trigger for Odyssey monitor/recorders. Remote Trigger feature has
been enabled in firmware version 5.10.100 for HD Apple ProRes recording only.
The Odyssey family is intended to follow users as they journey
through their careers from
DSLRs to high-end 4K raw cine cameras, hugging the ever-changing
camera technology
curve and adapting to change without invasive hardware changes or
costly upgrades.
The Odyssey series combines Convergent Design’s knowledge and
experience of both broadcast and cinematography recorders, while
adding the capabilities of a high-end professional monitor
Odyssey7Q Firmware 1.11.100 Released
Convergent Design releases a firmware update for the Odyssey7Q.
This release adds features, improves old functions and fixes
several issues.
Highlights of the firmware update include: New Features (All
Modes)
• Pixel Zoom memory
When using Pixel Zoom, the screen coordinates in 1:1 and 2:1 zoom
modes are remembered from previous use. Drag with finger on OLED
display to position zoom window. Window will return to same
position upon returning to Pixel Zoom setting. Reset zoom window to
center by tapping frame reference map in lower right corner.
Coordinates retained until changing record mode or powering down
Odyssey7Q.
• Multi-Stream switching
Multi-Stream interface updated with A/B/C/D input selector buttons.
Multi-Stream initializes in Quad Split view (display divided into
four separate images). Tap A, B, C, or D buttons to select a single
input for full screen display. Inputs can be directly switched to
by selecting the corresponding button without need to scan through
other inputs. To return to Quad Split view, tap on the currently
selected input to de-select it.
Sony FS700
Record Option
FS700 4K->HD ProRes (4K2HD)
• 4K2HD in REC709 (800%)
Added support for REC709 (800%) gamma setting. On FS700, in Picture
Profile menu, select a PP with Gamma set to ITU709(800%). This
setting increases Dynamic Range in highlights by three stops.
• 4K2HD LUTs
Added LUT function in 4K2HD mode. If S-LOG2 or REC709 (800%) is
selected as camera gamma, tapping LUT button applies a LUT to
adjust viewed image to a standard REC709 without altering the
recording. LUT is applied to the OLED display as well as SDI and
HDMI outputs.

Overview:
The Odyssey family
is a professional 7.7” OLED monitor with high-end monitor
features, including Waveform, Zebras, Histogram, Vectorscope, Focus
Assist, False Color, Timecode Display and Audio Level Meters, and
1:1 Pixel mode. Odyssey7 includes HDMI I/O, and SD/HD/3G-SDI I/O;

power supports recording/playback of up to four-compressed HD/2K
simultaneously, support for one video stream up to 120fps and
concurrent proxy and raw recording. Odyssey7Q includes a built-in
Quad Splitter and Four-Channel Live Switcher.
Odyssey7Q can be upgraded to a full professional recorder with the
following options:
Avid DNxHD Compressed (36 to 220 Mbps), Uncompressed HD/2K RGB 444
(up to 60p), 2K/HD Raw, ARRIRAW (full 16:9 and 4:3 support), Canon
