Overview All Blackmagic Atem TV Studio switchers will receive added controls on their HyperDeck
Studio disk recorders as it was announced by Blackmagic design. The new ATEM Switcher 6.8 update that is set to be released will be available as a free download on the Blackmagic Design website and
will incur no charges for all customers owning any model of ATEM Switchers.
Features Added Integration With the new
Blackmagic Atem TV Studio Switcher 6.8 update, Blackmagic Atem TV Studio Switchers operators will have an amazing experience with the added integration with HyperDeck Studio disk recorders. Their live production experience will be enhanced with the ability to control sources fully into the
switcher. This means that any ATEM Switcher will be able to control as many as four individual HyperDecks. ATEM Switcher operators will not only be able to automatically trigger recordings or playback
but also view a full list of clips for each separate HyperDeck.
Easy Set Up and Use With the 6.8 update, Blackmagic Atem TV StudioSwitchers will be connected to HyperDeck
Studio either through an SDI for video recording and playback or through an Ethernet, which allows for communication and control. The setup process is easy and basically involves assigning IP
addresses to HyperDecks for communication. As soon as this step is complete, communication is established, and operators can label the HyperDecks for exclusivity on the control panel.
Playback Control The
Blackmagic Atem TV Studio Switcher 6.8 update gives operators a complete view to the list of clips in the HyperDecks connected to the switcher that
matches the program format as specified by the ATEM Switcher on each SSD. This feature allows operators to order the clips as they wish, switch to the HyperDeck and cue the start frame for the HyperDeck to commence on playing.
Just as operators would set pre-roll for conventional tape decks, the Blackmagic Atem TV Studio Switcher 6.8 update allows users to set the pre-roll for the connected HyperDeck(s).
This ensures that the video starts rolling as soon as HyperDeck gets selected as the source. This feature allows for operators to commence or end a playback, shuffle, jog or achieve other different
control mechanisms over the clips being played. As soon as a clip reaches its end, it freezes on its last frame, and the HyperDeck has stopped automatically.
Instant Replay With the Blackmagic
Atem TV Studio Switcher 6.8 update, switchers connected to HyperDecks will be able to replay clips instantly. Through the use of custom macros, it is also possible to record camera feeds real-time onto a HyperDeck. The video can then be replayed in real-time using different speeds such as ½ and ¼ speeds
using the macro. This ensures that operators using high frame rated cameras (such as HyperDeck Studio 12G, HyperDeck Studio Pro ATEM Production Studio 4K, or Broadcast Studio Models) will be able to
get a very high-quality slow-motion recording and playback.
Other Features Language Support In addition to the wide range of high-performance features that the
ATEM Switcher 6.8 update brings, customers can now use their selected language for operation. Originally, ATEM Switchers could only support English, Japanese and Chinese but with the update,
French, Spanish, German are available.
HyperDeck SSD recorders During live productions, operators can use HyperDeck SSD recorders for live production, and this is possible thanks to the
Blackmagic Atem TV Studio Switcher 6.8 update. This has been a top priority for Blackmagic for a very long while and now that it has become a reality, sends chills of excitements for ATEM Switcher designers and customers.
With the update, customers will benefit from added benefits including instant slow-motion relays, instant playbacks for credits or spots. The best thing about the update is that current ATEM
Switcher customers will not be required to pay anything for it. Coupled up with HyperDecks and Blackmagic design cameras, live production for all formats including Ultra HD (up to 2160p), HD and
SDfinally has an end-to-end solution. |
