For operators in search of total control over the most complex live events coverage, the
ATEM 2 M/E
Broadcast Panel is an ideal solution. This incredible system which fits perfectly with a large panel comes with an amazing design which includes perfectly positioned control keys and an elegant
look for the ultimate user experience. The ATEM 2 M/E Broadcast Panel enhances your creativity in live production by allowing for total control of each of its aspect through a PC, which is
connected to the panel via the use of an Ethernet port found in the broadcast panel.
If your computer control dies of the AUX buses of your control
panel fail to function, the in-built 5" monitor provides a cover for a preview of inputs. The
ATEM 2 M/E Broadcast Panel is also well protected from power failures as its main unit supports
redundant power supplies ensuring that you can still make use of the device in case your power supply malfunctions during a live
event.
Main features Helpful Inputs The
ATEM 2 M/E Broadcast Panel comes with XLR inputs/outputs and RCA inputs. The panels also support the I/O of analog audio signals
which makes it still practical and applicable in this digital era of video production as most live events productions still use analog audio inputs. This allows for operators to receive feeds
from the soundboard and send playback audio from recorded video which is an extremely important feature for live recording. The unit also comes with a 20 6G-SDI inputs (Ultra-HD) switchable
between HD-SDI. It also has one HDMI input, four DSI inputs, and one HDMI program output as well as SDI-HDMI outputs (multi-view).
Easy Set Up Setting up an
ATEM 2 M/E Broadcast Panel is fairly simple, and only
requires some basic knowledge which professionals are conversant with. Some little IT skills will be required since all devices connected to the panel should share an IP subnet. Choose a signal
to use that will be applicable to different devices since failing to specify the signal may lead to failure of the operation. HDMI has proven to work just fine with the broadcast panel and if
possible, it is recommended to run short lengths of HDMI cables of maybe up to 15 feet.
Smooth Learning Curve With the set up partially excluded, everything else about the
ATEM
2 M/E Broadcast Panel is easy to learn. The basic controls of the switcher are well designed and should prove easy to use even for users who have little experience working with switchers. Features
such as transiting cameras, PowerPoint presentations or other types of playback sources should take no more than 15 minutes to learn. The ATEM 2 M/E Broadcast Panel is also supplied with an
instructions manual that can be used for learning other enhanced features such as using the digital effects bus for
multi-picture-picture-in-picture effects and chroma keys.
Control Options You can control your
ATEM 2 M/E Broadcast Panel via a switcher interface or use software that is included with every Blackmagic
switchers. With the graphical user interface, it is much easier to select inputs as well as performing transitions. You can also control the audio using the audio mixer which is found along the
bottom of the GUI. The audio mixer is an important feature that allows for control of output levels and setting of input as audio comes through the switcher with the recorded video. For audio
recording, always ensure that you turn on the audio from the audio tab for any of your desired channels.
Other Features Onboard Video Playback ATEM 2 M/E Broadcast Panel operators can be able to load graphics
or two still pictures into each media player. The switcher also has the added functionality of being able to playback videos from media
players although this requires special preparations.
