The AK-HC3500 HD studio camera is a native high-definition studio camera system for studio/direct-to-air switcher facilities and electronic field production. Incorporating
three high-performing 2/3" 2.2-megapixel IT CCDs, a newly developed 38-bit digital signal processor, and a 14-bit A/D converter, the HC3500 delivers exceptional HD images in 1080/59.94i and
1080/50i.
The HC3500 features an advanced single-channel transfer system and spatial offset processing that reduces aliasing and provides an outstanding 1,100 horizontal lines of resolution, and 60 dB
signal-to-noise ratio. The camera is equipped with a 12-axis color matrix to permit precise hue and saturation adjustment of individual colors. Other functions that allow precise HD image
control include: skin-tone detail; versatile gamma settings including real-time Dynamic Range Stretch (DRS) that varies the gamma correction to match the contrast within the image; cine gamma
to produce warm film-like images; and a new hue protection circuit which enables rich color reproduction even in high light areas, as in a brightly lit scene.
When configured for studio use, the 10.4-pound AK-HC3500 can also
be mounted onto an optional build-up unit with a "one touch," cable-free setup. The camera can also be used shoulder-mount for EFP applications.
Advanced picture enhancing features including: dynamic detail,
programmable gamma, real-time contrast correction gamma, CineGammaTM, an EBU color matrix preset that ensures similar color response in between HD and SD video for seamless intermixing and more.
- Full 2/3" 3-CCDs with 2.2-million-pixel resolution - Advanced picture enhancing features including: dynamic detail, programmable gamma, real-time contrast correction gamma,
CineGammaTM, an EBU color matrix preset that ensures similar color response in between HD and SD video for seamless intermixing and more - High sensitivity (F10 at 2000 lx) for low-light shooting; low
vertical smear (less than -130dB) - Dual optical filters (ND: CAP, 100%, 25%, 6.3%, 1.6%; and CC:
3200K, 4300K, 6300K, Cross and Diffusion) - Wide range of auto-setup functions - Compatible for teleprompter and program video use - Equipped with HD-SDI connections as well as HD monitor,
teleprompter, and AUX outputs; microphone, intercom and Gen-lock (BB/Tri-level Sync) inputs - Data trunk function with two RS422 links for control of pan-tilt
systems, lens, or robotic studios - External frame synchronizer for asynchronous video source not required - SD memory card slot - Ergonomic design with adjustable shoulder pad and rear panel
backlight for dark settings - Low power consumption (30W without viewfinder) - System options include: build-up unit, down-converter board,
camera control unit, remote operation panel and master setup unit (Studio-style lenses can be mounted on the build-up unit) |
Two types of HD formats, 1080/59.94i and 1080/50i, can be switched. The AK-HC3500's multi-format capability makes it possible to be used
world wide for broadcasting and image production.
Panasonic's high sensitivity, low smear 2/3 type 2.2 mega pixels IT-3CCD. Panasonic CCD sensor technology and the improved on-chip lens
performance offers a high sensitivity of F10 (1080/59.94i) /F11 (1080/50i) at 2,000 lx, a low smear level and an excellent signal to noise ratio of 60 dB.
Panasonic's single-channel transfer system and
spatial-offset processing technologies improve signal modulation depth and reduce more.
14 bits A/D converter and latest 38 bits Digital Signal Processing (DSP) provide clear, sharp images from
dark to bright areas. A/D conversion is improved to 14 bits compared to conventional 12 bits. A 38 bits Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and Panasonic's original real-time
gamma correction enable high quality images with Dynamic Range Stretch (DRS) and other high-performance functions.
Dynamic Range Stretch (DRS)
Function In scenes with mixed contrast, the DRS function can automatically suppresses blocked shadows and blown highlights. A gamma curve and knee slope are estimated to
match the contrast of each pixel, and are applied in real time.
Cine Gamma Curve
Thanks to its cine gamma curve, the AK-HC3500 can produce images with the same kind of tone, gradation and color as a film.
Color Correction The 12-axis
color correction function allows precise and independent hue and saturation adjustment of individual colors.
Skin Tone Detail Correction Separately reducing sharpness of two skin tones helps tone
down wrinkles and dull areas to produce beautiful, naturally textured results when shooting people. And since it is possible to apply this function throughout the entire hue phase (360°),
reducing sharpness can also be applied for colors other than skin tones.
Enhanced DTL Signal Processing
Enhanced DTL signal processing ensures superb picture quality with minimal noise in horizontal and verticaldirections, as well as in the image's dark and brightly lit areas.
Designed for easy operation and expandability The AK-HC3500 incorporates
Panasonic's extensive broadcast camera design know-how to provide even easier operation. Convenient features include a backlight on the rear operation panel for improved operation in dark settings
and an SD Memory Card slot for easy storage of user settings. A movable optical connector is also provided to reduce stress on the optical cable.
Ergonomic design for easy
handling In response to customer requests, we have made numerous improvements such as optimal weight balance and boosted efficiency when used with a build-up unit, and
a low center of gravity for more comfortable handling. Thanks to this advanced design, the AK-HC3500 helps to reduce user fatigue while assuring high efficiency both in the studio and in
the filed.
