Canon today announced the launch of a new telephoto addition to the Company’s COMPACT-SERVO series of EF Cinema Lenses, for use with super
35 mm sensor-equipped 4K and HD cameras, the CN-E70-200mm T4.4 L IS KAS S. This lens employs an EF mount and motorized zoom operation, and realizes a compact, lightweight1 body design representative of this lens series.
The CN-E70-200mm T4.4 L IS KAS S features a 70–200 mm focal length range2, a level of optical performance supporting use with 4K cameras and HD cameras, and excellent operability and handling to accommodate
various shooting styles, including comfortable single-operator production. This new Canon EF Cinema lens serves the needs of diverse on-location shooting situations ranging from documentaries and
journalism to telephoto shooting for nature and sports.
This lightweight, compact cinema lens features a motorized zoom, focus and iris control while also permitting manual operability of these settings to accommodate various shooting styles. Additionally, users can
realize enhanced flexibility for
shoulder-mounted use and rig use by pairing the lens with the ZSG-C10 dedicated grip (sold separately). What’s more, attaching the Extender
EF1.4x III for 98–280 mm focal length shooting or the Extender EF2x III for 140–400 mm focal length shooting (both sold separately) makes possible even more diverse visual expression.
Bringing together Canon’s cutting-edge optical technologies, the new CN-E70-200mm T4.4 L IS KAS S delivers a high level of imaging performance supporting use with 4K cameras, maintaining high optical
performance across the entire zoom range as well as from the center of the image to the outer edges. Furthermore, incorporating a lens structure that realizes stable shooting when zooming and a shift-type
image stabilizer that minimizes lens shake, the new lens facilitates smooth high-definition video capture rich with a sense of realism, fostering impressive visual expression. The CN-E70-200mm T4.4 L IS KAS S
will go on sale in early October 2017.
