Automatic re-broadcasting in different countries
and time zones is now a simple process done through PostPlay™
technology (included in FS1100 server) combined with standard
playout scheduling (of FS1000 models). The incoming cable/satellite
feed (from IRD) is continuously ingested and stored in a special
hard disk storage space organized as a circular buffer. The stored
video and audio content can be previewed in real time, without
interruptions and organized into clips containing segments of the
video to be re-broadcasted. The desired clips can be scheduled for
playback in any required order and at any time later, providing the
time-shift effect. The amount of time-shift can range from a few
seconds to several days. The maximum amount of time shift is
determined by the capacity of the video/audio storage, which can be
created using either local or high-speed remote HDD subsystems.
Just like with normal video files, time-shifted clips can be
included in to the playout along with overlay graphics and ad clip
insertions.
