Record every detail of every moment with the HDR-UX1 Handycam®. Make high-definition DVDs directly from your camcorder with supported DVD-R/-RW/+RW and +R DL media formats. In addition, the HDR-UX1 features a 10x Optical/80x Digital Zoom and Carl® Zeiss Vario-Sonnar® T* Lens. Capture more than just video with the 4.0 Megapixel Still image feature and Dolby® Digital 5.1ch Audio Recording. Once you've recorded your footage, you can easily transfer and share with complete composite, component, USB 2.0 and HDMI™ connectivity. Important notice regarding discs recorded in the AVCHD format
This camcorder captures high definition footage in the AVCHD format. Using the enclosed PC software, high definition footage can be copied onto DVD media. However, DVD media containing AVCHD footage should not be used with DVD based players or recorders, as the DVD player/recorder may fail to eject the media and may erase its contents without warning. DVD media containing AVCHD footage may be played on a compatible Blu-ray Disc™ player/recorder or other compatible device.

The Megapixel technology enhances your digital videos and digital still (3980K) photography performance.

DVD Format Video Recording2
The DVD recording format, in both MPEG2 (SD) and AVCHD delivers digital picture and sound quality comparable to that of MiniDV and High Definition, but on DVD. Playback of these DVDs couldn't be simpler (depending upon the playback device used). After finalizing the disc in the camcorder, the disc can play back in most DVD Players (SD), computers, Blu-Ray Disc™ players and even PlayStation® 3 video game consoles.

DVD-R/RW /+RW Compatible6
The HDR-UX1 is compatible with a variety of DVD formats allowing the ease of use and simplicity found in DVD Media. As long as you meet the minimum recording requirement, there is no need to finalize DVD+RW media before you play it back in most consume electronic devices (excluding PCs).

DVD+R DL (Dual Layer) Compatible
Using DVD+R Dual Layer (DL) media you can now record up to 60 minutes of High Definition (1080i) content.

10X Optical/80X Digital Zoom
The optical zoom helps to bring the action close up from far away. In addition, the Digital Zoom interpolation means that extreme digital zooming is clearer, with less distortion than previous types of digital zooms.

Carl Zeiss lenses have an advanced optical multi-layer coating for increased contrast. This results in vivid image brilliance, true-to life color saturation and perfect renditions of subtle tones. The additional T coating on the lens further reduces unwanted glare and flare.

Dolby Digital 5.1ch Recording
