The ultra-compact H1 Handy Recorder brings new meaning to the term "portability." Small enough to slip in your pocket, it offers professional-quality stereo recording at an incredibly affordable price. Take it with you wherever you go—live concerts and band rehearsals, location video shoots, lectures and meetings—or use it to capture your musical ideas whenever inspiration strikes.

You can count on your H1 to deliver pristine audio wherever you go. Here are just a few ways it can be used:
Recording live concerts and rehearsals.
Capturing audio for video.
Documenting lectures and meetings—faster and easier than taking notes!
Conducting interviews in the field.
Capturing song ideas.

The H1's built-in X/Y microphone provides two matched unidirectional microphones set at a 90 degree angle relative to one another, optimum for most stereo recording applications.

Alternatively, you can connect a pair of external microphones or line level signal to the H1's Mic/Line Input mini phone jack for X/Y or other types of stereo recording.

The H1 also provides a built-in low cut filter for the elimination of pops,
wind noise, blowing, and other kinds of low frequency rumble.

The H1 requires just a single AA battery—either alkaline or rechargeable NiMH—for power. Battery life when using an alkaline battery is up to 10 hours, even during continuous recording. Alternatively, you can use an optional AD-17 AC adapter, which allows you to power the H1 from any standard wall socket.

Best buy
By Jeff Aw 15/04/2017

Awesome! Zoom H1 recorder is a best buy for anyone who is on a budget. I used it for my cousin wedding video shooting in Malaysia and the quality of audio it has recorded was amazing. It worked great with a Lavalier microphone and it is very reliable! This recorder is an incredible value for money for its quality audio recording.

Good things DO come in small packages

Good and Cheap audio recorder? Where to find here in Singapore?

Use External Mic
By Edward Tan 04/04/2017

As other reviewer has commented, the H1 picks up handling noise quite readily, so it is not effective to use it as a hand held microphone/recorder. I would suggest to use with an external microphone to eliminate the handling noise or use a shock mount suspension. Best use of H1 is with an external microphone. It is great with a Lav mic, just slip it in a pocket and hide the wire. Unfortunately, it will add on to the cost.

Good Handy Recorder
By Neil Yong 29/03/2017

I have used this decent low-end recorder to record piano practice session and love the ease of use. It worked for me during the playback. No complaint.

Excellent Audio Recorder
By KY Woo 04/03/2017

Its small in size and lightweight has made me fell in love with it. My Sony camera does not have an external microphone or 3.5mm jack which the H1 does. With H1 recorder, I can monitor the audio while recording. It works wonder!

Over Sensitive
By Jimmy Wong 02/03/2017

The Zoom H1 handy Recorder is somehow too sensitive. I could even heard the slight hand movement sound when holding the handle attached to the tripod mount during playback.

Easy and perfect
By Wayne Pi 28/02/2017

Zoom H1 recorder is definitely a quality recorder at a bargain price. It is very user friendly, very simple to learn and does its job perfectly well as the recordings are exceptional quality.

Highly Recommended
By Chuck Ang 27/02/2017

I am a NTU undergraduate and cost has always been a deciding factor when come to purchasing equipment for recording purposes. I was happy that I have purchased the low cost Zoom H1 recorder as it has the best cost benefit and the recorded sound was pure and clear. The H1 is definitely small and is certainly a good digital recorder at a budget price. All-in-all, I'm very pleased with the H1.
